Michael Vardas
Mike Vardas is the Global Head of Northern Trust Capital Markets, which provides trading and execution services on behalf of institutional clients, including securities lending, brokerage and transition management services.
Previously, Mike was responsible for Northern Trust’s quantitative management index strategies, active strategies, and tax advantaged investment mandates.
Mike joined Northern Trust in 1983 and spent 11 years in the Treasury department, responsible for asset and liability management for the corporation and its subsidiaries. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Mike was associated with the Chicago Board Options Exchange.
Mike received his Master of Management degree in 1986 from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate Business School, a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Emory University in 1982, and an Associate of Arts degree from Oxford College of Emory University in 1980.
Mike is a holder of the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago, and the Association for Investment Management and Research. He holds Series 7, 63 and 24 licenses.
Mike is a Director for Metropolitan Family Services in Chicago since 2008.
