Bob Browne, Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for Northern Trust. He is a member of Northern Trust's Operating Group, reporting directly to the Management Group. Mr. Browne is also a co-manager for the Northern Global Tactical Asset Allocation Fund.
Mr. Browne chairs the firm’s Investment Policy Committee, which sets investment policy for all Northern Trust groups in all asset classes. He is responsible for investment performance, process and philosophy across multiple investment strategies including fixed income, active equity and passive investments. Mr. Browne has more than 25 years of investment experience.
Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2009, Mr. Browne worked for ING Investment Management and was the firm’s Chief Investment Officer for Fixed Income and Proprietary Investments from 2004 until 2009. In this capacity, he oversaw $120 billion in assets under management across retail and institutional clients, as well as the firm’s own insurance assets. From 2002 to 2004, he was founder and Managing Partner of Picador Capital, an alternative investment firm. From 1999 to 2001, he was Co-Head of Americas Fixed Income for Merrill Lynch Investments and he also worked in the firm’s London office from 1997 to 1999 as a senior portfolio manager. Mr. Browne spent the first eight years of his career, from 1989 until 1997, at JP Morgan Investment working as a global fixed income and currency portfolio manager in the firm’s Tokyo and London offices.
Mr. Browne holds a B.A. with a major in economics from the College of the Holy Cross. He also has a Masters in international business studies from the University of South Carolina. He is an active CFA® charterholder.

Before joining Northern Trust in 2007, Mr. Sodergren was a portfolio manager at Barclays Global Investors focused on active U.S. large cap strategies. Prior to this, he spent six years at Citigroup Asset Management as a portfolio manager and researcher focused on both active international and domestic portfolios.
Mr. Sodergren received a B.A. in quantitative economics and decision sciences from the University of California, San Diego and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is an active CFA® charterholder and member of the Chicago Quantitative Alliance.

Jim McDonald, Executive Vice President and the Chief Investment Strategist for Northern Trust. In addition, he chairs the Northern Trust Tactical Asset Allocation Committee, is a member of the Investment Policy and Private Equity Investment Committees, and is trustee of the Northern Trust Alpha Strategies and Equity Long/Short Strategies Hedge Funds. Mr. McDonald is also a co-manager for the Northern Global Tactical Asset Allocation Fund.
Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2001, Mr. McDonald was Director of Equity Research at ABN AMRO in New York and Chicago (1994-2000) and Equity Research Analyst at ABN AMRO following the Environmental Services Industry (1990-1994). He started his professional career in 1981 with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Detroit.

Christopher E. Vella, CFA®, is Senior Vice President of Northern Trust's Multi-Manager Solutions Practice. He is Chief Investment Officer with responsibility for manager research and portfolio construction processes across Northern Trust's Multi-Manager Solutions Practice. He is responsible for the global manager research platform, consisting of approximately $95B in assets across 200 investment strategies. He manages a team of approximately 25 investment professionals across all traditional asset classes. The team covers all external manager relationships on behalf of Northern Trust's private and institutional clientele.
Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2004, Mr. Vella was a founding member of Goldman Sach's external manager business which consists of institutional and private client assets. While at Goldman, he managed the international and emerging markets equity team. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Mr. Vella spent close to 6 years at SEI Investments working primarily on international equity and emerging markets equity manager research. He has over 20 years of manager research and multi-manager portfolio construction experience.
Mr. Vella received a B.S. magna cum laude in finance with a minor in applied mathematics from Lehigh University and was elected into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He is a member of the New York Society of Financial Analysts. He is an active CFA® charterholder.

Mr. McEldowney started in the investment industry in 1984, managing portfolios for high net worth and institutional clients as well as mutual funds. He has research experience encompassing private equity, mergers and acquisitions as well as domestic and international equity security analysis. At his predecessor firms, he was a research analyst, investment committee member and senior portfolio manager.
Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2006, Mr. McEldowney served as a Portfolio Manager from 1999 to 2003 at Invesco Funds and from 2003 to 2006 at Franklin Templeton.

Prior to this, he was a portfolio manager with Artisan Partners, LLC, where he served as an associate portfolio manager for the mid cap growth strategy and covered the technology and telecommunications, consumer, financials, and industrial industries as an analyst.

Mr. Blair joined Northern Trust in 1992 as an IMLG representative in Corporate & Institutional Services. In 1996, he became a municipal bond trader for the fixed income group. Prior to her current role, Ms. Fletcher was a Portfolio Manager in the Short Duration Fixed Income Group and was responsible for the Diversified Assets Money Market Portfolio and the Prime Obligations Portfolio. She is also is a member of the Fixed Income Corporate Credit Subcommittee. Before joining Northern Trust in 2010, Ms. Fletcher was a Portfolio Manager and Credit Analyst at SGI/Rydex Investments in Topeka, KS. She previously worked at Horizon Cash Management as a Portfolio Manager and Credit Analyst in Chicago.

Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2003, Mr. D'Arienzo was a senior fixed income portfolio manager for Deutsche Asset Management in New York. He joined Deutsche in 1981 (prior to the Deutsche Bank merger), where his investment experience included trading in structured portfolios and quantitative analysis of fixed income and derivative securities.

Richard J. Inzunza, CFA, Senior Vice President of Northern Trust, and Director, High Yield Fixed Taxable Fixed Income. He currently co-manages the Northern High Yield Fixed Income Fund.
Mr. Inzunza rejoined Northern Trust in August 2007 after serving as a senior fundamental analyst at Vanderbilt Capital Advisors from April 2007 focusing on absolute return strategies in bond and derivative markets. From December 2004 to 2007, he was a senior analyst at Northern Trust covering high-yield investment grade investments. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Mr. Inzunza was a senior analyst for Principal Global Investors in London, England and was responsible for credits trading in Euro, Sterling and U.S. dollars. Mr. Inzunza was previously senior analyst for Principal Global Investors in the high yield and distressed markets.

Brandon P. Ferguson, Vice President of Northern Trust, currently co-manages the Northern Bond Index Fund and Northern U.S. Treasury Index Fund. He is also a member of the Northern Trust Fixed Income Credit Strategy Committee.
Mr. Ferguson joined Northern Trust in November 2007 as an Investment Associate in the Fixed Income Group, was promoted to Associate Fixed Income Portfolio Manager in July 2009, and for the past two years has managed various fixed-income accounts for Northern Trust clients. From 2006 to 2007, Mr. Ferguson was a commercial credit analyst at First Midwest Bank. Prior to this, he served as a credit manager and mortgage salesman for Wells Fargo Financial.

Patrick D. Quinn, Vice President of Northern Trust and Senior Portfolio Manager in the Ultra Short Fixed Income Group. In addition to his responsibilities managing client accounts, Patrick is the co-Manager of the Northern Tax-Advantaged Ultra-Short Fixed Income Fund.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Quinn was the portfolio manager of Northern Trust's Collective Short Term Investment Fund. He started his investment career in 1985 in Northern's Treasury department, advancing to division manager of the bank's Funding desk. He also held positions as a portfolio manager and risk manager while in Treasury.
Mr. Quinn received a B.S. in management and finance from DePaul University and an MBA in finance from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University.
